Finish Time Projection FAQs

Practical answers to common pacing, split calculation, and training questions.

How does the in-race finish time calculator work?
It measures your actual elapsed time across distance completed so far to calculate your current average pace and speed. It then applies that pacing to your remaining distance to project your final chip-time finish, assuming pace maintenance.
Does this finish time account for late-race fatigue?
This calculator provides a steady-state projection based on current average pace. In long races like the marathon, runners often experience a 2% to 5% pace slowdown over the final 10 kilometers due to glycogen depletion. Always maintain conservative early pacing.
